Ear Wax Removal

Microsuction – £80

A gentle suction device is used to remove earwax under a microscope.

It’s quick, safe and painless, and no liquid goes into your ear.

Our team of earcare practitioners are fully qualified clinical audiologists who carry out microsuction with precision accuracy using high-spec examination microscopes.

Irrigation – £80

Using an ear irrigator, a pressurised flow of water is sprayed around your ear canal (at a similar temperature to your body).

Irrigation may be a strange sensation but is a painless procedure.

If you need hearing protection any ear wax blockage will need to be removed before we can make impressions of your ears.

If you have an ear wax blockage, your ears may feel dry, itchy or painful, and so you might experience some hearing loss.

Ear Wax Removal – What to do next

Use a couple of drops of olive oil, or softening drops, in the ear canal to help to soften the wax.

Repeat the process 2 times a day for a few days and one of our registered Clinical Ear Practitioners can remove it for you safely and painlessly.

Customer Review

“I would like to leave some positive feedback from my experience at your clinic today.  Having had microsuction on numerous occasions from both private and NHS practitioners, some of which have included some fairly esteemed ENT consultant doctors – I can genuinely say that the care, attention and precision of Matthew was without parallel.  I will definitely be making a return visit to the clinic! Kind regards  Arthur Woodward BA ACA”

What is Ear Wax?

Wax (or Cerumen)  is produced by glands in the ear canal.

It is an important part of your ear’s natural defence because it has natural lubricating properties.  It also contains an anti-bacterial agent to help prevent infections.  Because it is sticky and moist, it helps to trap foreign bodies and debris.

Why does wax become impacted?

Wax blocks your ear canals when it is pushed in by cotton-buds, hairpins, paper clips, and other objects that people put in their ears.

Wax should only be removed by trained professionals and is not a DIY job.

Don’t be fooled by Ear Candles either.  Before prodding a hole in your eardrum, or dripping hot wax on your face, have your wax removed by a professional.
